"I didn't build VisaWise to write about visas. I built it because I've lived this — the confusion, the paperwork, the contradictory advice — and I know how much easier it would have been with one clear, honest resource."

I'm Dean, and for the past several years I've been living the digital nomad life — working online, moving between countries, and figuring out the visa landscape the hard way.

I'm currently based in Barcelona, one of the best cities in the world for remote workers, and I hold my own Spanish residency — something I navigated myself through a process that was, frankly, far more complicated than it needed to be.

Before Barcelona, I spent time living in Cancun, where I helped fellow expats and digital nomads obtain their Mexican residencies. Watching people struggle with the same confusing, ever-changing paperwork over and over again was what first planted the seed for VisaWise.

The visa and residency landscape is genuinely complex. Rules change without warning. Official guidance is often unclear or contradictory. And the cost of getting it wrong — a rejected application, a missed deadline, money wasted on the wrong visa type — can be enormous.

VisaWise exists to cut through all of that. Every guide on this site is written from real experience, kept up to date as rules change, and designed to give you a clear path forward — whether you want to do it yourself or be connected with a trusted lawyer who can handle it for you.

No fluff. No outdated information copy-pasted from government websites. Just clear, honest guidance from someone who's been through it.
